This is one of my favorite homemade ornaments because they opened the really cute and pretty cheap. They are fast, easy and fun to make. My three year old had even happy to assist me.
Materials:
Wooden die cut (found in Michael's craft store)
Decorative paper
Ribbon
Scissors
Lapis
Mod Podge
Paint Brush (1 / 2 ")
Wood hand drill (found in Michael's craft store)
Glitter (optional)
Other embellishments (optional)
Instructions:
Take your timber and die-cut marks on your paper.
Cut the shape of two times (one for each side of the die cut). If your are not die cut weight and cut marks on both sides.
Your brush to apply Mod Podge to one side of the die cut.
Apply the paper to cut die.
Apply Mod Podge on top of paper. (If you are going to apply light in your decoration - it is the time to do it.)
Let the Mod Podge dry.
Repeat steps 3-6 for opposite side.
After the decoration is dry, drill a hole where you want to hang from the jewel.
Cut your ribbon with a length to choose and tie.
If you choose to apply to any other embellishments - now is the time to do that.
Now go hang it on your tree or tie to your gifts. Enjoy!
